It was by accident that I started Bus Life Studios. In April 2019 I bought a 40 foot 1988 Blue Bird school bus - a monstrosity. It was gutted and brown with mushrooms and feet painted all over.

I set out to convert it to live in full-time. As the conversion progressed over the course of the first month, folks started asking if it was for sale.

And folks didn't stop asking.

Half way through the build I made the decision to keep building the bus just exactly as I wanted it - a simple and no-frills build. And when completed I’d put the bus up for sale. If it sold, great, I’d do another. If not, I would have the bus I built and loved for myself.

I named the bus Lucid and painted it purple, teal & orange inside and out. The build was completed in four months.

Lucid sold immediately.

I fell deeply in love with the creative process of building Lucid...getting to utilize my design, welding, and other trade skills all while creating art. I decided not only to do it again, but to go all in.

I started my 2nd conversion and began the search for a commercial shop.

By December 2019 myself and a partner moved into a 2800 sq foot shop in Eugene, OR and started Bus Life Studios LLC!
